Description

A row of glowing green squares anchor a field of purple, black, and pink colors in this abstract image.

This digital image is based on my photograph from a Target Cancer Foundation fundraising event in honor of my late brother-in-law, .

Cholangiocarcinoma, also known as bile duct cancer, is a very rare but aggressive form of cancer. Dave was diagnosed in June and died early the next December at 48 years old, he left behind a wife, three college-aged kids and many, many of us who miss him all the time.

Proceeds from this image will go to Target Cancer Foundation to fund innovative rare cancer research.

Behind the scenes: To get this shot, I was laying in the grass. The horizontal green line in the foreground is dozens of luminaries with names of community loved ones lost to cancers, the dark forms in the midground are people looking towards the sky, and the bright spot in the purple background is the firework explosion.
