Description
Do you sense the sense organs of a beetle? Bulbous eyes (oculi) and cheeks (genae) manifest in the midground, comb-like antennae (pectinate) dissipate into the hazy background, and foremost the mandible of this herbivore comes into sharpest focus just in the center. Or, maybe, it's an extraterrestrial life form? But you want the truth.
I created this image from my photograph of dormant ornamental grass during a late-winter sunset at a local park. Twisted and tweaked, run-of-the-mill landscaping becomes fantastical.
